ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work belongs to a series of paintings that were inspired by jazz music. After a trip to New York where I went out to hear young jazz musicians, I started again hearing jazz music. It alway leads me to colorful abstract paintings full of energy and light.

I live in Dorsten, Germany, a small town near Düsseldorf. My studio is situated in Duisburg at Atelierhaus Weidenweg, which is the location of Kunstverein Duisburg. Growing up in a family of architects, I was surrounded by art from early on. Therefore I had the idea of becoming a garden designer. So I undertook a gardener training for two years. Being also interested in literature and philosophy, afterwards I decided to study History and German Literature at the University of Bonn. Later on I worked for an advertising agency in Cologne. For nearly 15 years now I have been working as an independent artist and freelance media designer.
