About The Artwork

I am usually inspired by photos. Sometimes I like to draw the faces of people I meet on my vacation travels, which I then transfer into painting. I hope that viewers of my works are captured by the colors, my personal style, and that they can see my sensibility through the expressions of the subject I have painted. I love acrylics because they dry quickly and give a modern feel to paintings. I like to do portraits because the human being is always an interesting subject for research. I like to paint Africans because of the multiple gradation of their skin color and because their continent is amazing.

I am a self-taught painter and have been painting for a long time. I started when I was fourteen years old with oil paints and copying famous paintings from the past because I had an encyclopedia of the world's art museums. I still keep one of the first ones: the Venus of Velázquez. Then I continued over the years by switching to water colors. I love painting very much. I like to depict human figures not only for the beauty of a face, but for the expression I catch in a person, for eyes that tell without speaking, for an enlightening smile that gives cheerfulness and hope, for two extra wrinkles that make a difference in the story marked on a person's face. Especially in African faces I like the black eyes and the different shades of their skin or the bright colors of their clothes. As a painting technique I use acrylic colors and my brush strokes can be either textural or smooth. Each painting is a unique piece. I never repeat the same subject, nor do I make prints. For the past few years I have been participating in contemporary art fairs in France and Italy.
