About The Artwork

Tina Turner's music inspired the painting 'Serendipity.' I painted it in May 2023 when I listened to her music after she passed away. She was one of my favorite singers, songwriters, and performers. Tina suffered horrible abuse in her life, but was able to overcome the dark phase to rise high and shine bright./ 'Serendipity' is sold matted (white mat) and framed (silver frame, 20x16). Please note: 'Serendipity' is part of an exhibition extending through August 2023. The original will not be for sale through Saatchiart until after the exhibition. - 'Serendipity' was sold on the first day of the exhibition,

I spent the first 26 years of my life near Munich, Germany, before I moved with my American husband to the U.S. I consider myself to be a German-American by now. Both countries are beautiful places to call home. Currently, I divide my time between our home in West Palm Beach, Florida and our country place in Canton, North Carolina. As an adult, I started creating art in November 2008. My first piece was a heart in black, red, and yellow, using oil pastels. I did not plan what colors to use, just let my right brain take over and allow my hand to pick the colors. Later I realized that I had painted the heart in the colors of the German flag - black, red and gold. After years of not being able to create works of art due to requirements on my time, I have started again in 2023 to pursue my passion for and love of art. Currently, I am in the process of setting up an art studio in a repurposed dairy barn in Canton. I let my feelings and emotions guide my choice of color and form. My works are often not planned out; they are created in the moment. I draw and paint while listening to music – the same piece of music over and over - and I translate the feelings that the music evokes in me into pictures. Creating art gives me pleasure. I have adopted a minimalist expressionist style. My favorite medium is soft pastel.
