ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Serhiy Aliyev-Kovyka was born in 1956 in a former Kossak village not far from the city of Dnipro. Serhiy started painting at the age of 10. In 1987 he graduated from the Faculty of Arts and technical design of printed materials of Moscow Polygraphic Institute. The artist finds inspirations in traditional Ukrainian folk art, and his works vary significantly from painting to printmaking (woodcut), sculpturing, paper cutting and photography.
