For more than 500 days, the terror has continued and the question that constantly arises, perhaps naive and childish, is why the world simply continues to watch? Even watching is already tired. When I was recently in Kyiv, after a few days I adopted the local "vibe" - going to bed after reading about rocket launches. Because there are several hours of sleep before anxiety. But this is not the norm. And how strange it is to read the schedule according to which the next, daily, portion of missiles and drones will arrive in which city - as if it is a schedule of electric trains, and not an ugly "Russian roulette" that destroys someone's life every time. It is so strange that in the modern world everything is already known - the flight number and the deadly cargo, all the names and positions, the place and time of departure, the model of the plane and the location of the missile carrier. But it just keeps happening, every day. Back in 1962, the artist Harry Anderson painted the picture "Jesus knocks on the UN". In another sleepless night, I went to the UN website to read the charter of this organization. In today's reality, he looks not just funny, but even cynical. The words of this charter are carved on the picture. So many empty words. This is the first of a series of 9 works "Words" that illustrate the events in Ukraine and on which the words of the UN slogan are carved. ______________________ The paper is stretched on a stretcher, the edges of the artwork are painted. The painting is ready to hang and does not need a frame. The surface of the paper is covered with a matte varnish that protects it.

My name is Natalia (Delnara is my creative pseudonym). I'm from Ukraine. I'm a full-time artist, my passion is painting and travel. For seven years I traveled to different countries of Europe and Asia continuously, lived and painted for a long time in different cities. Right now I’m reevaluating my artistic practices and all those experiences and impressions I got while travelling. I’m working on a new series, using the polysemy of the concept of “migration”, while trying to find new facets of the multicultural and multiethnic society. I use a dynamic worldview, rejection of a settled way of life and migration as tools to re-actualise my “mental map”, as a way to see more clearly and get rid of automatic perception. Being a nomad used as a cognitive tool in the artistic field allows space for miracles and manifestations of life itself.
