The two love poems in this scroll set are both part of the collection from “Hyakunin Isshu”. It is a classic anthology of one hundred Waka poems, each written by a different poet, compiled during the Heian period (794 to 1185). These poems, known for their rich emotional depth and elegant language, span several centuries, offering a glimpse into the hearts and minds of Japan’s most esteemed poets. Each scroll is carefully handcrafted using traditional Japanese calligraphy and Sumi-E methods, making this set a meaningful gift or a serene addition to your own space. Perfect for lovers of Japanese culture, poetry, and art, these scrolls celebrate the beauty of ancient Japanese love. - Original two scroll/set. Thank you for visiting my page. I have always loved creating artwork. Art is a my life and my passion. I love working with Sumi Ink paintings, oil, pastel, acrylic paintings and graphite drawings. I love painting portraits, scenery, wild life, and flowers. I was trained in Shodo (Japanese Calligraphy) since I was 4 or 5 years old under my father who was a master Shodo painter. Shodo and Sumi-E painting is my roots, my culture, and my father's legacy. They are beautiful Japanese traditional arts and I deeply appreciate my father who taught me this and my heritage.
