About The Artwork

Original 3D Acrylic and wood painting. Ready to hang framed home decor wall art. Amelia hand-paints birch wood panels in a carefully blended pallet. These panels are then cut into 1000's of 6mm circles. These 6mm dots are then meticulously hand-selected and carefully colour-composed into these mathematically precise geometric collage panels. The piece incorporates contrasting gold leaf dots. Gold leaf, ink, acrylic, wood stain, gold paint, and watercolour. The piece comes ready to hang in a back or white-black box frame which is made from wood and has a UV perspex glaze to protect from fade and for safe shipping. 37cm x 37cm unframed 40cm x 40cm Framed

Abstract artist, Amelia Coward is renowned for her explorations into mixing, blending and grading colours, with a growing international profile. Born in 1975, she holds a 1st class Honours from Central St Martins and MA from the Royal College of Art. Her artworks can be found in both private and corporate collections worldwide. Amelia creates artworks that focus on the interaction of colours combined with the carefully composed spacial balance between geometric elements such as circles and stripes. Influenced by her woven textile training she uses laser cutters much the same way as she was trained to use a loom, cutting geometric shapes then reassembling them in patchwork compositions. Located in a traditional Oast Barn in the Kent countryside, Amelia combines her prolific making of new pieces with her commercial giftware business, Bombus. Each influences the other. Amelia has a team of creative makers in her studio to help to assemble, photograph, frame and pack all the works.
