In 'Shaman's Route,' a tapestry unfolds, rich in enigma, luring the viewer into realms where frenetic brushstrokes breathe life. A shaman, that ancient healer of primordial societies, emerges as the central figure—a soul entwined with the spirit world and the raw pulse of nature. In the artist's vision, the shaman becomes akin to a marionette, a puppet guided by the unseen hand of nature or the ethereal realm. The shaman, in this portrayal, is but a vessel, a mere conduit through which the universe's whispers find voice. This revelation finds expression in the vivid and tumultuous plane upon which the puppet dances, a realm where the chaos of existence melds with the transcendent. It is a testament to the artist's brush, breathing life into the notion that the shaman, like a puppeteer's creation, is both bound by strings and set free upon a vivid stage of existence.

Tom engages with an eclectic range of images taken from the everyday, books, art history, and television. By funnelling a broad range of source material onto the canvas, the work oozes ambiguity. Although Tom is extremely selective with his choice of word and image, he combines them in such a way to blur any apparent meaning, allowing for a unique and individual voyage into the deep void created by the multitude of layers of paint and newspaper on the canvas. Tom’s work orbits around anti-capitalist themes as his bombastic brush strokes become an expression of detest towards powers of corruption. Tom’s work is a protest against the spiritually depraved world we live in and aims to sustain and invigorate the culture of art he is so infatuated by. Tom is a London-based artist who is a graduate from the University of Brighton and is currently studying a masters at UAL: Camberwell.
