About The Artwork

Having spent a large part of my childhood growing up by the sea, I found the lakes of Minnesota beautiful, passive and gentle. It wasn’t until I was introduced to Lake Superior, so aptly named, that I realized what a true power a large inland body of water could create. I visit the beaches of Lake Superior often, marveling at the incredible and endless combinations of weather. In a few short hours, one may witness the fog lifting, the sun glinting on the periwinkle blue lake, a fast moving violent grey green thunderstorm churning waves and pummeling craft, followed by a night of shooting stars and dancing Aurora Borealis. Truly, this is an awe inspiring natural wonder. This series, She Makes Her Own Weather, is inspired by the Great Lake, and honors the powerful people in my life that have made their own way, and created their own weather, regardless of the conditions. Each in this mixed media series is 12” x 36”. Alison Price has a BA in Studio Arts from Augsburg University, Minneapolis, and holds a MA from the University of Wisconsin. Her award winning work is internationally and nationally collected, including the FBI, Capital One, BKV Group, and Sons of Norway.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

My family moved to the US from a tiny island in the English Channel. As a child, I would play in the tidal pools, explore the forests, and very carefully, very, very carefully, walk along the cliffs. Guernsey is still my heart, although now the hearty state of Minnesota is my home. My love for water, the sea, the stones and rocks, the trees and wildlife, are combined with my passion for travel and history, and somehow, all this tumbles out onto the canvas. My current series are Purely Textural, Witnessing Waves, Shifting, Road Trip, and my zero waste project, the tiny Fireflies. I hope you enjoy my art, and are able to explore a bit of the magic the canvas holds.
