About The Artwork
As a response to the corona virus pandemic, this piece represents the impact on American citizens being bombarded news and the discrepancy between facts, statistics, reality and spin, conspiracy theories, deception. The beauty of painting with wax is the many translucent layers built up with the media. The under-paintings of this series are hand-prints made by painting rubber gloves with India ink. The colors capture the many images of gowns and gloves seen in news coverage. The textures represent the layers of misinterpretation.
