Shipwreck Painting

Edit-This piece is now in a private collection in Durham North Carolina. I started with a Pollock inspired style intending to add some Rodney Smith inspirations using bronze. The background colors are emerald green, a rusty red color (the same used in Rust), a dark blue, an eggshell white, black and a gray. the bronze "coins" as I envisioned them were supposed to be perfectly round but I rushed the process and it did not work. Feeling frustrated, I dropped my stick and reached my hands down into the bronze paint and then flung the paint off my hands in two angry motions. I then put this painting aside for a couple weeks. Every time I saw it during that time I started to have a fondness for it. Now I feel it is worthy of being viewed by you.
