Regardless of a recent flood of technological and visual artistic developments, I strive to keep alive a traditional approach to art, using only authentic methods and materials to bring to life my own interpretations unspoiled by contemporary changes. I do not seek to capture naturally occurring scenes in my paintings but instead heavily abstract images which elicit the same feeling of recognition as a customary landscape scene. I endeavor to escape the rigid and formulated nature art has become and apply a genuine unadulterated brushstroke of pigment on canvas leading to the creation of spatial collisions in a three dimensional arena. The coming together of natural factors such as air, light, and shadows sculpted together through the manipulation and use of paints engenders harmony among all the constituent parts. This embodies the practical relationship mankind has with nature and all its natural surroundings. My ultimate goal is to create an image which effortlessly flows from top to bottom and dark to light, this aesthetic scene is continuously repeated, forming my version of nature.
