ABOUT THE ARTWORK

“I’m analyzing the theme of change into person’s life, trying to bring me back to a simple and pure view over things (typical of kids) for being more objective, free from prejudices. Here I represented the adversities, in a freeze frame which could underline their deep link with the perception of daily life. This connection is changing our life approach as always in an uncertain progress we call growth.” The astonished and fearful kid’s gaze want to communicate the inadequacy which difficulties put into the life, it doesn’t matter if they’re big or not but always they’re able to let you feel uncomfortable like seated on eggs. The fan represent problems itself which with their own never-ending whirl bring life to consume and evolve. This canvas is the first to have some physical elements pasted on the surface, in this case they’re little corns cylinders (known as Playmais) with which kids love to play and make creative creations. This is not a random choice but want to highlight the above-mentioned child’s approach and to give a different touch of color creating a pending moment.

Stefano Borella (b. 1991) approaches art thanks his mom’s passion for drawing, ceramic decoration and sculpture. This multifaceted vision allows the artist to test his figurative vocation which easily finds its own expression analyzing the link between feelings and images. His artistic identity is expressed through the essence of black like a free approach to the creation, mainly focusing over emotions and sensations. In his works redundant is the usage of dissonant elements, useful to underline the artist's "tragicomic" vision who try to answer to the big questions of life.
