ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This oil painting of a model (and artist) named Shane was done as a live demonstration of painting from life during my exhibition titled "From Paper to Bronze: Sculptors who Draw" in Austin, Texas. I painted the canvas using raw umber and white, so with warmer colors than pure black & white. Shane was a great model with chiseled strong features in the face and hands. I enjoyed the masculinity in this pose. The painting on canvas was later framed with a wide wooden frame that is black with sculptured silver trim on the inner and the outer edges [shown in the image].
