Eleriin Ello (b. 1984 in Tallinn) is a freelance painter living and working in Tallinn. She graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts with a BA in Printmaking (2007) and an MA in Painting (2010). In 2009, she studied in Portugal at the University of Porto through the Erasmus programme. She is the recipient of the Young Painter Prize (3rd place, 2012) and the Sadolin Art Prize (2016). Ello’s paintings explore states of light, space, and perception. Moving between the figurative and the abstract, she approaches landscape not as a place, but as an experience — a moment that unfolds between the visible and the perceived. Her practice has become increasingly intuitive over the years, based on trust in inner perception. Forms and spatial states are allowed to emerge rather than being pre-planned. Light plays a central role in shaping atmosphere and emotional tone. The works create quiet, experiential spaces of subtle intensity — environments that open up possibilities for slowing down, presence, and attention. “My main focus is on inner states of being, awareness, and freedom. Painting has become a process of listening inwardly and allowing what wants to emerge to take form. What I wish is to create works that carry a sense of inner brightness and depth — spaces of harmony, stillness, and rest.”
