Stretched, Unframed. Painted edges Signed on the reverse. Painted in high pigment artist oil paint on canvas. Skin deep is a more impasto surface than other works by this artist. There is still a layering and gazing technique but the surface has a painterly texture to it. Skin Deep is a portrait of sorts, the human organism and our connectedness to nature; both our own inner nature and that of our environment. It is a poem, an ode to our more conscious selves. This is a painting which sits within the overall context of this artists work as an exploration of the true nature of man. It's a rather dark and mysterious painting, there is a sense of unease but also humour in the piece. The painting is stretched but not framed and will be carefully wrapped and shipped in a box. Genevieve Leavold is a British abstract Painter based in Frome, U.K. Predominantly known for her freeform, organic paintings, her reverence for spontaneous gesture in her paintings draws from Zen, Buddhism and other ancient Eastern philosophies which embrace the beauty of purposelessness and play. Her whole approach is one of immediacy, working wet colour into wet and layering glazes gives her work its recognisable softness and form. b.1980 Somerset UK. Genevieve Leavold originally trained and worked in Theatre Design before taking the decision to return her focus to painting. She completed studio courses at Central Saint Martin in 2007 and 2012. She has exhibited widely in the UK, Europe and the USA and has work in private and corporate collections worldwide.
