"Slut Grace - Gatta morta" Painting

Obsessed by the idea of pure creation, photography appeared as the only way to paint my own universe. As a fallen dancer, I quickly became haunted by the problems of movement and ephemeral emotions. Photography helped capture portraits, bodies or fragile elements of nature and light so that paintings would be nourished by the understanding of how really things look like through seasons. Being born in a society of images, full of history of art books since childhood, and connected to internet image databases since teenage-hood, is like swimming in a huge ocean. To that extend, speaking of being "self-taught" does not give justice to the old masters, nor the contemporary artists that have imposed their influence to our eyes, constantly. Art can be approached in art schools, but also in human sciences universities, through critics, for example. So I chose a path in philosophy, history, literature, languages, rhetorics to come back to painting with a bright new eye: the perspective of what matters most for human beings.
