ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This small copse is one of my favourite subjects and I have painted it a number of times. I love the shape made by the group of trees and the way the path leads you to them. In this painting I used Golden and W&N acrylic paints. I finished it off with two coats of Golden Satin Acrylic Varnish which not only protects it from damage from the atmosphere and UV light but also gives it a slight sheen. It is framed with a simple but stylish wood tray frame which has been hand-painted pale grey.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Katrina is primarily, though not exclusively, a landscape painter and the Fenland landscape around her home provides a continuous source of subjects. Creating strong compositions and harmonious colour relationships are her main concerns when painting. She builds up the image in layers, continually making adjustments until these objectives have been achieved. This process results in an interesting surface texture which is an integral part of the work. She sees the final painting as a distillation of her response to the subject. After gaining a BA in Fine Art (Painting) from the Central School of Art, London, Katrina used her art skills in many different ways to earn a living. She was employed by a specialist decorating company for several years which included painting murals and decorative finishes on walls and furniture. She also worked as a freelance illustrator with clients in both publishing and advertising. A few years ago, she self-published a children's book that she both wrote and illustrated. In recent years, she has had more time to devote to painting and regularly exhibits her work in Cambridgeshire and London. She has paintings in collections in the UK and abroad.
