ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I have been working on the theme of Stacks. Stacks include the landscape as in stacks of rock on cliffs but also stacks of boxes and stacks of objects in my environment and even stacks of clothes on a chair. I like the solid sense of a stack, but then the possibility of shifting and the affect of gravity. And also the randomness of nature and happenstance but the common structure of the grid. I like the interplay of flat white space and mark making against the space development of color. Stacks are a still life in nature and everyday life.
