Inspired by many trips to San Francisco, this mixed-media piece is a combination of acrylic panting and my own photographs.

The background painting features a heart referencing the "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" song and theme as well as the many heart sculptures that have been placed around the city. Two white lines lines form a sailboat mast. A photographic image, in archival pigment ink, of the Transamerica Pyramid building was transferred to create the sail of the mast. A yellow cable car, blurred and in motion, is sailing down the hill. To the left, of course, is the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. At the bottom, forming the "hull of the vessel", is a silhouetted panoramic of the San Francisco skyline within which once again the Transamerica Pyramid is featured and aligns centered on the mast.

This painting was completed by the artist as a flat piece of canvas before being stretched on 1.5" thick stretcher bars. The edges are painted, so it does not require framing unless desired.
