Sparrows in Conversation on Morning Glory Painting

Based in Beijing, China, I have been painting for more than 60 years. I started painting when I was in my 20s and have never stopped since. Later, I became a member of the Chinese Painter Calligrapher Association. Peonies and plum blossoms have been the muses for many artists since the Song dynasty, and they are the most portrayed subjects in my paintings. Through life drawing, practice, and experimentation, I capture the sense of movement, delicacy, and calmness of every petal, stem, and flower in my paintings. Another frequently captured passion of mine is landscape. Chinese traditional ink landscapes are meant to be poetic, aesthetic, and simple. I focus on the lines, shapes, and natural forms, allowing both the strength and softness to coexist in my landscapes. I blur the contours of the mountains, making them disappear into the mist.
