I'm Haloethl, a Tokyo-based artist and half of the conceptual alt-rock music duo "Iser Conne", which recently released our critically-acclaimed first single, Leak on streaming platforms this past May 2024. I created an atmospheric paintings series, "JENEM" - a name that had ties to my artistic identity. As a world started developing in my mind, I went from Boston, to Mexico DF, to Tokyo, which introduced factors into the equation that would affect the outcome of its evolving appearance. I exhibited the works with the debut collection titled “ No Longer Part of the Landscape” for TOKYO DIVERGENCE, an exhibition featuring nine rising artists in Tokyo, Japan, in June of 2023. "No Longer Part of the Landscape" is an atmospheric series of black and white acrylic paintings on wood panel. Other-worldly forms inhabit a white void, evolving within their new environment over time. Newer works have introduced undulating shifts of pinks and crimson, brightened by the white void yet obscuring the mystery within. In terms of any kind of philosophy, ultimately, I seek to merge art and music, uniting these identities despite their desire to stay apart. The compromise is that they'll be one, but allowed to veer freely at times. All the while, urging it forward, is an idea - if there is a greater purpose for art and meaning in this world, it ought to take precedence at any moment, despite whatever visions for how things ought to play out. Throughout all, I enjoy communication and learning more about feelings, people, and life, and am always open to being surprised.
