The Impressionist Berthe Morisot is one of my artist heroes. At the Art Institute of Chicago, I was awe-struck by her painting "Lady at Her Toilette" (c.1875/80). Morisot's iridescent grays and soft-focus details inspired this painting. My painting is looks like it could fit seamlessly beside Morisot's painting at the Art Institute of Chicago's Impressionists Wing. This painting captures the ephemeral sense of short-lived, fragrant blooms that herald Spring in the chilly Midwest. It is framed in an expensive antique french carved wood gold/griege and gilt frame. (See Additional Images) ***Final Framed dimensions: 24 and 7/8" W *********** 20 and 7/8" H 2 and 1/8" D

After years as a medical artist producing anatomical illustrations, I am now a fine artist. I create sensitively nuanced paintings and drawings in a semi-abstract, semi-realistic style with vivid unexpected color. My paintings celebrate subtle shifts in light and emotion often overlooked in our busy lives. I do not follow art trends, nor a singular style because I am constantly experimenting. I feel experimentation is essential to my creativity. This way my paintings are unique and one of a kind. Raised in New Jersey, I live near Chicago.
