As a child I was intrigued by the iconic paintings found in the Orthodox Christian Church that I occasionally attended with my aunt and uncle. Since then, I've explored an interest in iconography, symbolism, mythologies, and storytelling. Seek and find—is the process that I use for creating. Because it’s the seeking of those suitable elements—color, form, space, symbols—that can bring a composition into existence and give it meaning. For me, this method is instrumental in transforming something mysterious into something tangible. I draw inspiration from primitive and geometric art as well as works by Paul Klee, Henri Matisse, Sol LeWitt, Robert Motherwell, Robert Mangold and Josef Albers. My work is extended to an international audience through numerous commissions for postage stamps. Countries that have commissioned stamps include the British Virgin Islands, Grenada, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, Dominica, and Antigua and Barbuda Postal Services. In 1999, seven paintings were featured in Extreme Homes, a production of the Home & Garden Network. His work is also featured in the corporate collections of Ciba-Geigy Corporation and SmithKline Beecham.
