From a distance it is clearly a stairway. But the steps are not the same height and become slightly lower with each step. The first step is the highest. This painting is painted with only two colors. Black and white. But life is not black and white. The stairs are therefore not completely straight. It is not drawn by a computer but handmade. The stairway represents an idea, a theory or an abstraction of reality that helps people make life more bearable. Even if it's an illusion.
