"Standing In" Painting

“Standing In” uses found plywood as a ground. Note that its dimensions are approximate. As the wood I find and use is rarely square, framing this work would be a true challenge. I discourage any effort to do so as I feel the painting should stand on its own. I have to admit that this painting grew into a “kind of” self-portrait. It reminds me of me, but that’s no reason for you not to like it! The black area/clothing (which photographs poorly) has movement and a bit of dimension, much like the russet background, although perhaps not so lively. The subject here seems to have lost his hands (no reflection there, I still have both of mine), but I like the missing element in this work.
