About The Artwork
When you canoe on a river you see countless bridges, and the foundations of long lost bridges. This old train bridge near Danville Illinois has stood tall against time, the river and the elements for over a hundred years. I am inspired by the deep shadow, reflections in the water, and the bridge's architecture which is scared by time. A bridge is something that safely connects us from one place to another. This old bridge with arms stretch wide connects me to the past.
