About | "Starry Night” is an atmospherical painting which radiates with a mystical energy into the interior space when it is exposed. It is a meditative artwork which represents the magical power of the starry sky and the lonely traveler who has stopped in the middle of nowhere and is humbly amazed by the scene above him. The art style that I used is a technique that I've been exploring for many years. It comes from the legacy of 'abstract expressionists', especially the great painter Jackson Pollock. When I paint I mostly don't even touch the surface of the canvas, I'm just dripping the paint trough hundreds of layers. The illusion of the relief structure is one of the consequences of multilayered surface. It was really important that I used only 'natural materials', because I believe they are the only ones that can give all the essential features needed. The underpainting was made with coffee and then I used high quality earth and mineral pigments combined with amber shellac to complete the painting. It has rough uncorrected edges and is very resistant.
