ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is the first painting in a series of figurative still-life paintings with a floral theme.. In this painting I used a simple pallet of black/white/grey contrasted with yellow and blue set against a red background. There is a lot of energy and motion on the canvas as if the flowers are radiating out of the vase and spreading to the corners of the canvas. The eye wants to wander around the entire canvas and take in all of the different details before settling in on the theme of the vase with flowers. I had a lot of joy painting this piece and my goal is to spread this joy to whoever is viewing it.
