Each week, as part of our routine, we embark on the grocery shopping journey. Here in Ecuador, we are blessed with an abundance of fruits and vegetables that carry the added charm of being exceptionally affordable. It's from these grocery hauls that I construct a still life, capturing the vibrant array. In my artistic endeavors, I'm actively forging my own distinctive style, employing circles and doodles as the building blocks for shapes, colors, shadows, and lights. This amalgamation is what defines my evolving artistic identity, a style that has taken shape over time. Executed on watercolor paper, the artwork is presented unframed. While framing is recommended for an optimal display, hardware is not included. This print edition invites you to immerse yourself in the harmonious convergence of routine and artistry, a testament to the beauty found in the simplicity of everyday life. I hope you find enjoyment in it.

Ecuador
An Ecuadorian artist, navigates the local artistic landscape with a distinctive approach, diverging from the typical dichotomy prevalent among Quitenian artists. Rather than aligning with the bohemian left or the elite, art-educated right, Angela embraces her identity as an ambitious Quitenian with a down-to-earth perspective. Balancing her artistic pursuits with a middle-class sensibility, Angela introduces a unique voice in the narrative of Ecuador's art scene. She modestly considers herself a sui generis expressionist, influenced by her early exposure to art through her mother, Angie, and the captivating oil-painting sessions with her aunt-in-law, the esteemed artist Micaela Almeida.Angela's artistic journey began with humble doodles of flowers, symbolizing intimacy and family bonds. Her style, marked by an indiscriminate use of colors, reflects her innate creativity. Turning to digital mediums for expression, she reserves traditional materials for moments of artistic freedom. Angela, embracing vulnerability, desires a return to the simplicity of white canvases. She discreetly embeds messages in her art, inviting viewers to discover joy in nature scenes, and showcasing Quitenian humor with humility and depth.
