ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Borja Martín-Moreno is a Spanish artist whose unique style refers to abstract expressionism, an artistic movement that emerged in postwar America. He also combines visual analysis, art and a historical insight. Attending to his way of working, he traces a new field outside the vocabulary of abstract expressionism, adopting the principle of integral composition and rejecting the traditional concept of a certain approach that gradually disperses towards the edges and corners of the canvases. During the action process, he rejects the use of the easel and always acts in a rebellious and freethinking way, breaking with the established painting methods. His works are comprised of textures and complex layers demonstrating his interaction with a canvas in a moment by using all kinds of tools and devices, as well as acrylics, gels, sands, putties and other materials.
