Arthur Streeton was an awwarded landscape artist from the Heidelberg School of Australian Impressionist Painters. This location on the Hawkesbury River was named after him, following his plein air painting resulting in a grand work titled The transparent might of the Purple Noon. My practice follows the tracks of my ancestors and of accomplished plein air artists into the physical landscape so that i can translate a visceral experience into a contermorary representation - what's been described as post-pop romanticism. I'm hoping the viewer reads a sense of joy, enthusiasm and vibrancy relating to landscape, nature, art, memories and travel.
