ABOUT THE ARTWORK
SHORTLISTED FOR LONDON ROYAL ACADEMY SUMMER EXHIBITION 2019 Painting: Acrylic and Oil on Wood. I have always been very interested in colour and its effect on mood and how it blends and works. My recent work is based around this. Each painting evolves and it is finished when it feels right. I then use a high gloss varnish to brighten and give the work a very reflective quality. You see yourself in the work as well as a huge depth of colour. This painting is on board and framed with wood. Starting with acrylic and then layers and layers of glaze which blend to create multiple colours in a parallel pattern. I particularly like the wonderful turquoise blended with oranges, blues, browns and many other colours that you will discover within it. It is very calming and meditative.
