Filatov Sergey is a Russian artist who mainly works with oil paints on canvas. His paintings combine the style of modern Russian impressionism with impasto technique. Sergey Filatov was born in the Moscow region of Russia. Chance sealed his fate. As a five-year-old child in kindergarten, he refused to paint a portrait of his mother for the March 8 holiday. The rejection was due to severe frustration due to a lack of skill: - I can't draw my mother as beautiful as she is. The teacher advised the parents to send the boy to an art school. And so began his journey into the world of beauty. Sergey began to study fine arts at the age of 7. From 1992 to 2002, he graduated with honors from 2 children's art schools. In 2002, he entered the Fedoskino Art School of Miniature Painting, where he devoted four years to lacquer miniature painting. But already there, he began to understand that easel painting was closer to him. In 2006, he entered the Moscow State Regional University in the department of painting. It is within the walls of a higher educational institution that its original pictorial style begins to develop. Sergei Filatov is a member of the Mytishchi Association of Artists, teaches painting at the Moscow State Regional University and conducts master classes in private art schools. The main theme of his paintings is nature. Through nature, he expresses his inner state, mood, and feelings, appreciates its beauty, and draws spiritual strength. His works are in many private collections in Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Germany, France, the USA, and other countries. Pictures are created mainly with a palette knife. This tool has a large working surface, which allows you to apply both smooth broad strokes and small textured strokes to the canvas, achieving a more expressive effect. For me, painting is an opportunity to reflect the world and the events in which I am destined to live. In my paintings you can find completely different emotions that I live and display on canvas with the help of paints. While painting, I seem to disconnect from this world and everything that happens around. All extraneous problems, events, as well as the passage of time stop for me. There is only a canvas, paints and what I chose for the plot of the future painting. At this point, I forget if I'm hungry, if I've eaten and if I want to sleep, how inspired I am.
