Please Note: This is a circular work and is 900mm/35.5in diameter. The sides are painted. Painted with Acrylic Flashe paint, a soft, buttery, matt paint from France. The style is inspired by a close-up of a pixelated photo. When you zoom in, it looks abstract. Then as you zoom out the image reveals itself. This style is halfway between those two points. The art of fragmentation offers a unique lens through which to view the world. In our increasingly fast-paced and interconnected society, our experiences often feel fragmented, disjointed, and transient.

In this current series of work, I explore the concept of fragmentation—manipulating images until they are almost unrecognizable. It’s about breaking down the familiar into a mosaic of geometric shapes, held together by commonalities of colour and form.
