Part of the painting process is experimentation. With Sunny I wanted to take the idea of Arabian horses existing in surreal floral worlds to the next level with gold oil paint. This background is entirely gold paint which creates a more textured finish and a metallic reflection. Surrounded by sunflowers and bees making honey Sunny is a bright vibrant piece. This work is part of my more experimental series where horses exist in unexpected ways. As someone who grew up loving horses, I believe all horse lovers still hold on to the unicorn and flying Pegasus fantasies.
