Carolyn Ferrari is a lifelong artist who began her studies at Duke University as a pre-medical student, taking studio art courses for creative relief. After two years, she realized that there was no chemistry between her and the sciences, so she shifted her focus to the creative arts, literature and social sciences, and hoped to find a way to use her talents to have a meaningful impact. Upon graduating, she went into publishing, and at the age of twenty-six, she created Cards For A Cause, the first exclusively cause-related greeting card company in the U.S. With Carolyn as illustrator and CEO, the company quickly grew to represent over a dozen national and international nonprofit organizations, including the American Cancer Society, National Alliance to End Homelessness, Child Welfare League of America, AmFAR, Prevent Child Abuse America, and the Environmental Defense Fund. Her designs were sold in Pottery Barns, Border's Books, Bloomingdales, Macy's and independent retailers nationally, with all sales raising funds and awareness for the beneficiary causes. After selling her publishing company to focus on her young children, Carolyn returned to painting--again for creative relief--becoming known for donating her impressionist landscapes and seascapes to local causes and fundraisers. In 2012, she returned to painting professionally, and she opened her Atlanta gallery, Ferrari Fine Art. By offering classes in the gallery’s atelier and dedicating the gallery shows to local causes, Ferrari Fine Art was unique in its mission to create a venue that flipped the paradigm of the community supporting the arts, to enable art to support the community. In 2016, she decided to leave the gallery business to focus on painting full time, and she has enjoyed being back in her studio ever since. In her work, Carolyn seeks to depict the beauty she sees in the landscapes, seascapes, people, places and things she encounters daily in her life and travels. Her work is available through various shows and exhibitions, galleries and other venues, and her paintings have found homes in corporate and private collections throughout the United States. In the spring of 2019, she was commissioned to paint six works for the set of the Netflix series, Ozark, and she is looking forward to her onscreen debut in Season Three (airing fall of 2019).
