IMy abstract artwork embodies a captivating exploration of geometric forms and imaginative cubism. The composition is characterized by a dynamic interplay of shapes, such as triangles, squares rectangles, etc., meticulously arranged to create a sense of depth and movement. The color palette is vibrant at times, or dull, to deliver the energy and emotion of my particular state. Each shape seems to pulsate with life, drawing the viewers eye to the canvas, to read the story or create their own. The use of sharp angles and intersecting lines suggests three-dimensional quality, inviting viewers to perceive the artwork from multiple perspectives. Textures may vary, with some areas appearing smooth and polished, while others might be layered or rough, enhancing the visual intrigue. Overall, my artwork, challenges conventional perceptions, encouraging viewers to engage their imagination, and explore the fluidity of form and color within the realm of cubism. This is an original one-of-kind painting on 1.5” thick gallery wrapped canvas done in acrylic. The sides are painted. It has been finished with a satin varnish to protect from dirt and light. The painting is wired and ready to hang; no frame needed. Shipped protected in a cardbox.

Speaking with John Hantoumakos Question: Tell us about yourself. John: I was born in Athens, Greece, but have spent most of my life in Toronto, Canada. I’m married with two sons and a dog. Question: Tell us about your art. John: I started painting and sculpting in high school. I have been painting for about 35 years, while holding a left-brain job. During that time, I participated in various exhibitions. In the last seven years I have been a full-time selling artist. Question: What type of art are you interested in? John: Over the years, like many artists, I have painted in different styles: live scenes, portraits, still life etc., but I always came back to the style I enjoy the most, abstract. I like to play with colours, touch emotions and mix reality with fantasy. I get my inspiration from anything, the colour of the ocean (undoubtedly tied to my Greek heritage), a formation of a cloud, a tree, the shape of a mountain, the sources are endless. Question: Where do you live now? John: I live in a suburb of Toronto, Canada, with my wife, and our dog.
