ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Suspended Moment captures a fleeting moment when light, color, movement and depth collide and freeze. The painting celebrates the infinite changing phenomenon in nature. The artist uses a unique patina technique to create the layers and depth. Fluid paint is applied, dried and then partially washed away. The colorful work uses red, yellow, orange and maroon against a complimentary warm grey blue background. The edges are painted a solid black. The canvas has a light texture which adds a sensual tactility to the piece. There is a glaze which brings out the richness in color. The piece is signed on the back and is ready to hang. To create the patina, the artist dribbles layers of paint on canvas textured with silica sand and gesso, Then she dries areas before washing off the entire piece. This technique cause a natural looking patina - resembling something one may see in nature. The painting's edges are left painted revealing the creative process. The work is signed on the back and ready to hang.

Nature presents light, dark, shadows and movement which evoke emotions of mystery, wonder and love. My goal as a painter is to use nature’s abstract elements like colour and space to capture a particular feeling, a feeling of unity, passion or peacefulness. I strive to create painterly abstractions that mysteriously resonate with my deeper self and hopefully with the soul of the viewer. I believe art is a way to communicate one soul to another.
