ABOUT THE ARTWORK
When I was in Hominy, Oklahoma, last October 2022, I was struck by the clarity of light above this lake. I saw it as a challenge to get that light in a painting. Osages didn't much use the sweat lodge in the old days, so this must be modern times after we took up the Native American Church; sweat lodges are used to purify before going into a Saturday evening Church meeting.
