ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This landscape expresses the cozy and peaceful atmosphere and a particular way of living in a natural spot, surrounded by woodlands in a winter season. The thick layers of white oil colour convey the smooth texture of the snow, meanwhile delicate "scratches" and lines "carved" on the oil colours were the appropriate way of representing all the "accidents" of landscape, the small herbs and other natural elements and aspects of the ground itself. The red cabin emerging from a darker background, in contrast with the deep greens around, is a characteristic element in a Swedish landscape, and in the painting a pretext to insert a bright red touch among the cold greenish hues. Sweden and the Swedish woodland in general have often inspired and motivated many of my oil paintings and drawings. This theme was taken from one of my trips to the heart of the region of Dalarna, in central Sweden. The painting will be mounted on a white panel for sending to customer.

I am a visual artist born and based in Valencia (Spain). I started showing art skills in my early childhood, and later my trips and hikes into the unspoiled nature kept myself motivated to create my own identifiable and affecting landscapes out of the experiences that really touched me. Gazing at the alluring and intelligent power of Nature, far-reaching vistas and blustery skies plays a vital role in my art. Probably my eye also tends to seek the most ordinary yet loved spots I know well. The act of painting itself is for me like groping in the mist or surveying unknown landscapes, it comes up when I let myself go and manage to involve the deepest part of me into the creative process, even without noticing. At this very moment it is when I disappear into my work, something I really love. Throughout the years I have produced a great number of sketch books, both in the studio and while drawing on local nature spots, often places with depth and distance, mixing oil colours, ink, watercolours, charcoal and graphite. All these sketches have become a sort of training in meditation, self-questioning and contemplation of the landscapes I really love. Stark contrasts, moody reveries and gloomy atmospheres usually catch my eye. It is then that I intend to convey this feel vigorously in the studio, by emphasizing my spontaneous and personal expression. And the outcome, always so unexpected and thrilling!
