ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Inspired by past practice techniques of painting and the process of painting this work focuses on seeking something new. Experimenting with colour placements, patterns and the spatial elements of the paper surface is one of my greatest joys of painting. This work captivates by my own gaze, where rivulets and swamps of colour disperse across the surface in an energetic discharge of vibrant colours. The viewer is invited to interpret the works within the realm of their universe, real and imagined.

I love to experiment in my process of painting, exploring opposites like the spontaneous mark alongside the deliberate, dark colours contrasted with fluorescent pigments, masses of colour juxtaposed with fine ribbons or scribbles of paint. Compositions that offer no clear connection to reality or meaning, rather present explorations of painting compositions that may stimulate memories and create pathways to the imagination.
