Natalia Lewandowska Iris
SWEET RECYCLE: IRIS

Original Artwork
Mixed Media
Wood, 98.5 x 122.5 cm

This project is about transformation of abounded wooden panels, scattered around streets of East London, into artworks. I call this method a “Sweet Recycle”, which introduces linear style of natural layers of wooden knots woven between shades of blue and white paint. The organic style resembles shape of female body.

The inspiration also comes from botanical studies of Flagstaff Iris (Latifolia) at Kew Gardens in London. The name 'Iris' derived from Greek word meaning 'rainbow', which is also the name of the Goddess.
