Swift Stroke Painting

I saw a photograph in a coffee shop. It was a minimalist composition. I liked the scene but decided not to sketch it... rather hold it in my mind and decide what to do with it later. The original pic was on a lake, no clouds, still waters just like a mirror. I thought about my regular pool routine swim and how fun it would be to swim open waters. It prompted me to re-interpret the theme. Placed it in a more open water context, added some clouds and gave it a feeling of seeking a destination. Encouraged by my teacher, Marv Johnson, I painted quickly and gave it to Roger, swimming couch of our group.
