Painting: Oil, Mixed-Media on Wood.

I'm Michaël Mazet, artist based in France. In 2019 I've started a series of paintings called "Tech-Noir".

On this series I'm working the light spectrum with holographic effects, enhanced by contrast with ivory black. It means that my paintings are always in motion, always different depending to where you stand, and to the actual ambiant light. Meaning that you could look at my paintings 10 times a day, it would be different each times.

The idea of working the light spectrum comes from my childhood. I was born in 1986, so I grew up in this bright colors, fluorescent, holographic, science-fiction era. All these things affected me and my creativity, and inpires me to this day.

A few other influences; African Art with its patterns, its colors, its shapes, and Pierre Soulages with his elegance, his strength and power.

Tech-Noir is the logical path to my creativity. And I really enjoy working on this series.
