I am an oil, acrylic and gouache painter living in Arizona, USA. I have been painting full time professionally since 1987, and spent the first 12 years of my career painting for advertising as a commercial artist. While this was rewarding, I yearned to be free to create images that were my own vision, purely for their aesthetic value, so in 1999 I left advertising for the fine art world, where I've been since. In that time I've won numerous awards including being featured multiple times by the Oil Painters of America in their national and regional juried exhibitions and by the American Impressionist Society in their national exhibitions. I began my career painting straight realism before graduating to an impressionist style, which has evolved to abstraction. I still paint impressionism, and I'm an avid plein air painter and split my time between the outdoors and the studio.
