The technique I use looks like very fine craquelure porcelain and catches the light. I love painting classical portraits of horses and the sandy pinky colours mimic the rough clay of the original pieces. The dark blue embossed corner dragons continue around the sides.

My themes are horses from the Mughal and Tang Empires, birds, hares, gardens and interiors. I use gesso in some of my work which I build up in layers and distress, in conjunction with acrylic, oil and gold leaf. I particularly love the effect of craquelure. I use deep canvases painted over the sides, none of my work needs to be framed and they are all ready to hang.
