About The Artwork
Dungeness is a remote nature reserve on the south coast of Kent in south east England. It is a beautiful quiet and peaceful place. I've tried to capture the simple collection of shacks and huts that are now weekend getaway retreats. I like the old telegraph poles and wires that criss cross the landscape. The sky is quite grey on an early Spring day and I've left the bottom half unfinished - it adds a simplicity to the painting which I think is attractive.
