Lauryn Ahearn was born in 1983 in North Carolina, but has spent most of her life growing up in New Jersey, where she currently resides. She graduated with a B.F.A. from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University in 2005. As an emerging artist she has exhibited in galleries in New York City and New Jersey, gaining momentum and name recognition among local art communities. In 2021 Lauryn opened her own contemporary art gallery, The Live Painter Gallery, in Lawrenceville, NJ. Ahearn dwells "where a painter is a poet." She creates art as an extension of herself in an attempt to obliterate anything outside of the creative moment and connect with others through shared recognition in her work. Her suburban daytime identity inspires underlying themes in her art that examine the challenges of balancing a creative lifestyle with motherhood, work, and familial responsibilities.
