Ella Nash is a Worcestershire based artist who’s worked within the art and textile industry. Nash’s collection of work is inspired by derelict churches and cathedrals. She aims to capture the essence of these ancient buildings exude, using an expressive colour palette and texture to convey drama and atmosphere. Nash draws her inspiration from war artists of the second world war. She is an abstract painter who uses a range of mixed media, working on a large scale using a variety of tools and found objects to make her marks on the canvas. She enjoys the immediacy of working using her hands and sticks to paint directly onto the canvas, creating a sort of closeness within her work.
